sbo222 Scott McTominay "was always going to be a late developer" and is doing well to keep his place in the Manchester United side, according to former team-mate Sean Goss.
Goss, who is currently on loan at Rangers from Championship side QPR, played with McTominay in the United youth ranks until his release from Old Trafford last year.
McTominay has impressed in the United midfield in place of Paul Pogba in recent weeks and is currently the subject of a tug-of-war between England and Scotland for international football.
Goss told Sky Sports: "I played with Scott all the way through when I was at United. It's a massive decision for him and I'm sure he will take his time to make sure he's 100 per cent to make the right one.
"He was always going to be a late developer. He was quite small when we first joined so he always needed to grow into his body. Now he's showing what he's capable of. sbo222
"He's a big lad, strong, and gets around the pitch really well. It's saying everything right now with his performances, and he's keeping his place in the side. I think he'll be looking to carry on doing that."
Goss says he is enjoying life at Rangers, where he has scored two goals in six appearances so far, after being told he did not fit into Ian Holloway's idea for QPR's midfield.
"Getting games was the main thing for me and I've played almost every game, and I'll be looking to continue that," he said.
"When I was at QPR I was told that I wouldn't fit in with the way the manager wants to set up his midfield. I'm just focusing on my time at Rangers now, enjoying the opportunity.
"I'm not really thinking about my future. We'll think about that decision when it comes to it." sbo222
