sbo222 Cardiff closed to within three points of Sky Bet Championship leaders Wolves after a 2-1 home win over Barnsley.

Callum Paterson opened the scoring on 31 minutes, and on-loan Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic doubled the lead early in the second half, before Oliver McBurnie, on loan from Swansea, pulled a goal back on the hour.

Aston Villa remain third after a 3-0 win at bottom club Sunderland.

Lewis Grabban headed in against his old club on 34 minutes and James Chester nodded home a second from a corner just before the break. An own goal by Sunderland midfielder Bryan Oviedo in the 66th minute completed the rout.

Fulham continued their own promotion charge with a 3-0 win over Sheffield United at Craven Cottage, where on-loan Newcastle frontman Aleksandar Mitrovic scored twice. sbo222

The Serbian frontman bundled in a low cross on 31 minutes for his fourth goal in as many games, and added another well-taken effort just before the break. Tom Cairney knocked in a third after 61 minutes as Fulham made it 14 Championship games undefeated.

Derby, beaten by Fulham on Saturday, were held to a 1-1 draw at QPR.

The Rams went ahead on 38 minutes through Andreas Weimann, but Massimo Luongo headed in an equaliser with just three minutes left.

New Birmingham boss Garry Monk had a 39th birthday to forget as his first match in charge ended with 1-0 defeat by former club Middlesbrough at St Andrew's.

Patrick Bamford's close-range finish on 39 minutes proved enough for Boro, who are into sixth while Blues remain in the bottom three.

Burton are also still in trouble after a 2-0 home defeat by Brentford. The Bees went ahead on the hour through an own goal from Burton captain Kyle McFadzean and Ollie Watkins scored a second with 10 minutes left.

Hull are looking over their shoulders after losing 2-1 at home to Millwall. The Lions swept ahead inside the opening minute through George Saville and Jake Cooper then headed in from a corner on 33 minutes.

Substitute Abel Hernandez, in his his first appearance since August after injury, pulled a goal back with 11 minutes left.

Preston dented Bristol City's play-off hopes with a 2-1 win at Deepdale. Alan Browne's chip broke the deadlock on 20 minutes, before City equalised through Famara Diedhiou's header on 67 minutes.

North End, though, were soon back in front when Sean Maguire finished off a counter-attack. Robins defender Aden Flint was then sent off in stoppage time for a stray arm in the penalty area.

Martyn Waghorn scored twice as Ipswich won 2-1 at Sheffield Wednesday. Striker Waghorn put the visitors ahead on 51 minutes, but Owls substitute Lucas Joao levelled after 69 minutes. sbo222

Kilmarnock 0-0 Celtic: Much-changed hosts held to Parkhead stalemate

sbobet24 Steve Clarke's Kilmarnock proved problematic once again to champions Celtic as they held out for a goalless Ladbrokes Premiership draw at Parkhead. The much-changed home team struggled against a resolute Killie side in a rather lifeless first-half and were unable to convert the few real opportunities they were restricted to after the break. Clarke had drawn with and beaten Celtic since taking over the Rugby Park club in October and will be glad of another point against Brendan Rodgers' side, their first in four post-split games.

There will surely be more excitement when Celtic collect the league trophy for the seventh successive season against Aberdeen on Sunday before they bid to win a successive domestic treble in the William Hill Scottish Cup final against Motherwell the following week. However, in the grand scheme of things, neither side had too much to play for at a rain-soaked Celtic Park. Amid six changes, Celtic started the game without a recognised centre forward as the only fit one, Moussa Dembele, was rested. sbobet24

Returning winger Patrick Roberts led the line as Jack Hendry, Jozo Simunovic, Stuart Armstrong, Scott Sinclair and Calvin Miller also came in to the side. The Hoops controlled the ball for the most part but the first real effort on target took 31 minutes and saw the ball in the Killie net, after Simunovic had climbed to head Armstrong's free-kick. However, the flag was up, perhaps for Kristoffer Ajer's final touch in an offside position. Celtic then stepped up the pace to finish the half strongly.

Winger James Forrest headed a Callum McGregor cross just over the bar and Sinclair came close with an angled chip over Killie 'keeper Jamie MacDonald which cleared the far post. Within three minutes of the restart MacDonald made a great save at point-blank range from Armstrong after Sinclair had jinked into the box to set him up. Just before the hour mark Miller conceded possession deep in his own half and Greg Kiltie's drive across the six-yard box was cleared by Hendry on to in-rushing Aaron Tshibola and over the bar. That was as much an attacking threat as Kilmarnock offered. sbobet24
